Arthur B. Jones, 70, of Benton died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, at the North Benton Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Auxier officiating. Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be accepted at the church. Mr. Jones was born on July 27, 1938, in Binghamton, N.Y., the son of Calvin Clinton Jones and Alice Mae (Singer) Jones. He was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed hockey and football. Surviving relatives include his significant other, Rosa Gardner of Benton; Rosa's two daughters, Corrissa Gardner of Benton and Jennifer Hudetts of Mulkeytown ; Raymond Williams of Tennessee, Art's children, Melody Orlandini of Truxton, N.Y., Bobby Jones of New York; nine grandchildren; one niece, Carolyn Marie of Kentucky; a nephew, Jack Church of Tennessee; and a great-niece, Theoply Smith of Kentucky. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karen; one son, Jimmy; and one sister, Emma Smith.
