Mrs. Lessie Loraine Shatley, 75, of Route 8, formerly of Wilcoe, died Monday, April 15, in a Abingdon hospital, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1915, at Ashe County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Gertrude Gotley Hart.
Mrs. Shatley was a member of the Church of God and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Richard Shatley.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Jack Hart Sr., Karl Dean Shatley, Maurice Shatley and Richard Shatley, all of Fayetteville, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Bob (Gail) Mercer of Abingdon; four stepsons, Sid Shatley of Moab, Utah, Curtis Shatley of Atlanta, Ga., Pete Shatley of Bluefield, and Bob Shatley of Abingdon; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jack (Bertha) Farris and Mrs. Woody (Helen) Fields, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Wayne Hart of Bristol, Tenn. and Sherman Hart of Cleveland, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Parsons of Georgia and Bea Hart of Deltona, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Dale Sharp officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
