Alan "Doc" Welton Amos, age 86, of Odessa, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 30, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home in Odessa. Burial, with Military Rites, will be in the Odessa Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa VFW Post 5675.
Survivors include six children: Karla Amos, of Las Vegas; Von Amos and wife, Tracy, of Springfield, Virginia; Rick Amos, of Odessa; Ralph Amos and wife, Kim, of Grain Valley; Austin Amos and wife, Carla, of Lake St. Louis; and Paul Amos and wife, Susan, of Warren, Conn.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Melba Strothmann of Odessa; and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, Darwin Welton and Laura (Heurcamp) Amos, Doc was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Cassandra Amos and Joshua Amos; and a sister, Martha Amos.
