Dorothy passed on peacefully surrounded by her children on August 11, 2010 at the age of 92 in her Chehalis home. Dorothy was born on August 6, 1918 in Chehalis, WA to John and Julia Phillips. She graduated from Olympia High School. She married the love of her life, Coe G. Johnson, in 1936. She retired as Quality Assurance manager from National Frozen Foods in 1980 after 32 years of service.
Dorothy was an active member of the Chehalis Women of the Moose. She was also past President of the Centralia - Chehalis Emblem #163 and was Past Supreme Marshal of the Supreme Emblem Club of the USA and traveled throughout the United States. Her pastimes included baking, playing bingo and slots, making handmade flower corsages and gifts, and cheering for the Seattle Mariners. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Coe G. Johnson, daughter, Judy Jackson and great-grandson Ryan Jackson. She is survived by three children: Betsey (Leo) Volk of Centralia, Dianne (Gordon) Young of Chehalis and Coe (Sharon) Johnson of Chehalis. Dorothy has 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
