Merry J. Koch, age 62, of Manitowoc, lost her battle with cancer and died peacefuly Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee.
She was born on December 23, 1953 in Manitowoc, the second child of Patricia (Williams) Bauch and the late Eugene Bauch. Merry was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1972. She was employed at Mirro for many years before joining the family business at Industrial Millwork. Merry was employed in the office at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School for many years. She genuinely enjoyed all aspects of her job, especially interacting with all of the wonderful children and their families. She was a former member of the Optimist Club in Manitowoc. Merry enjoyed traveling, bicycling, going to the beach, walking the family dog, and the Packers. She especially loved spending time with her friends and family, in particular her two grandsons, who were the light of her life.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Ashley Koch-Krause and her husband: Joshua, Bevin Koch; two grandsons: Aiden and Oliver Krause; her mother: Patricia Bauch, all of Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Timothy & Carolyn Bauch, Manitowoc; one sister: Faith Bauch, Oshkosh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Patricia & Daniel Johanek, Appleton, Marge & Lyle Ruthmansdorfer, Manitowoc, Mary & Gary Aschenbrenner, Manitowoc, John & Cindy Meyer, Kellnersville, Jim & Kay Meyer, Manitowoc, Sharon Koch, Arizona; and one uncle and aunt: Harlan & Helen Demsien, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Bridget Dunn, Alaska, Taylor Bauch, Madison, Kelly (Paul) Myrdal, Arizona, Christopher (Kathryn) Koch, New York, Lisa (Nate) Forst, Appleton, Michael Meyer, Manitowoc, Jen (Luke) Hennessey (goddaughter), Manitowoc, Sarah (BJ) Buck, Manitowoc, Eric Ruthmansdorfer, Arizona, Scott Ruthmansdorfer, Manitowoc, and Jeremy Aschenbrenner, Whitelaw. Special friends: Cindy Nesgoda and Mary Matthias, along with many other relatives and close friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her father: Eugene Bauch; friend and father of her children: Jon R. Koch; her mother-in-law: Evelyn Meyer; and a brother-in-law: Michael A. Koch.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 N. 14th Street) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial of her cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 N. 14th Street) Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 until 11:15 a.m.
