Morgan R. Assmann, age 57 passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 24, 2016. Morgan graduated from South High School in 1976 and went to The Ohio State University where he earned his teaching degree in Industrial Technology. While at Ohio State, Morgan was a four year letterman in baseball, the game he loved that would influence the rest of his life. Morgan devoted his life to helping others. He brought out the best in every young person he came in contact with. He began his teaching and coaching career in Buras, LA. Morgan and his wife returned to Columbus where Morgan continued teaching and coaching at Gahanna Lincoln High School. He was a beloved baseball coach for many years at Bishop Hartley High School. Morgan retired from teaching in 2015.
Morgan leaves a legacy of love and laughter through his wif, his sons and his precious granddaughters. Also surviving are his siblings, mother-in-law, beloved in-laws. Many nieces and nephews were blessed enough to have been part of Uncle Morgan’s Halloween parties, Christmas Eve gatherings, Cajun potatoes, arts and crafts, camping trips, skiing and fishing, card tournaments, summer fun at the pool and his many woodworking projects and adventures.
