Walter "Dub" Bellamy, age 76, went to be with Jesus August 3, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Ponca City, OK Sept. 4, 1928 to Orbon and Alva Bellamy. Walter was a member of Victory Christian Center, Oklahoma City. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and served on the USS YMS (420), USS Bronx (APA 236), USS Essex Aircraft Carrier CV9, and USS Hank DD702. He was awarded the Victory Medal and was honorably discharged in 1951 where he then attended Central State College. Dub was employed with Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Co. for 19 years. His travels with Halliburton included South America and various states in the U.S. He went to work for International Harvester in 1967 and retired in 1995. Dub was a 32nd degree Mason and had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying in his younger years. He was an avid story teller and loved telling of his many adventures. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with wife Norma and dogs in their motor home to Canada and across the U.S. Dub married Norma Grace in 1951 and were happily married until death. He was preceded in death by mother and father Orbon and Alva Bellamy, sisters Betty Parrish, Barbara Bond, and nephew Jerry Bond. He is survived by wife, son W. W. and C. Bellamy (Houston), daughter T. and W. Walker (Harrah), son A. and D. Bellamy (Yukon), and son R. and J. Bellamy (Yukon), twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Maureen (Moore) and brother Dan (Yuma, AZ). Services will be at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Monday August 8th at 10:00 Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society "Walter's Angels".
