November, 1836, in consequence of the Tombs being in the City Burying Ground on Boylston Street (Central Burying Ground) being discontinued by an argument between the City authorities and the Proprietors, the remains of my family were removed to Mount Auburn Cemetery to the family lot #84, Cypress Avenue by Nathaniel Curtis, Jr.
A large coffin marked “N. Curtis” containing remains of: Nathaniel Curtis, my Father, who died in 1806; Elizabeth Curtis, my Mother, who died in 1794; Elizabeth Curtis, my Sister, who died in 1797; Nancy Curtis, my Sister, who died in 1814; Charles Curtis, my Brother, who died in 1819; Ann Curtis, daughter of Charles, who died in 1824; Elizabeth Curtis, daughter of Henry, who died in 1824; Henry Curtis, my Brother, who died in 1828; Mary B. Curtis, daughter of Henry, died in 1836; and Ann Curtis, wife of Charles, who died in 1809.
