Eugene Arthur Roat, 84, of Beggs passed away at his home on Thursday, January 27, 2005. He was born on February 29, 1920 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Frank and Lucy (Porter) Roat. He lived in the Beggs area most of his life where he married Lillian (Barbee) Roat in August of 1955. He loved his animals around the house and just being outside. He was a member and Deacon of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Beggs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lucy Roat, his wife Lillian Roat, a sister Jeanie Carr, two brothers Frank Roat Jr., Virgil Roat and son-in-law J.B. Warren.
Survivors include Seven Daughters; three sons-in-law; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, three brothers Bill Roat of Tulsa, Harold Roat and his wife Margie of Skiatook, Bud Roat and his wife Lois of Eufaula and Effie Carr of Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, January 31, 2005 at the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Beggs with Reverend Raymond Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
Viewing will be on Sunday, January 30, 2005 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the McClendon-Winters funeral Home Chapel in Beggs (MillieBelle)
