Mary R. Cameron, 90, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Cambridge on June 10, 1925 to the late Clarence and Grace Phillips Lewis.

Mrs. Cameron attended schools in Dorchester County. On April 24, 1945 she married the late Donald D. Cameron, who passed away on February 12, 2007. Mary had a few jobs throughout her life, she was a nurse where she worked in private and hospice care, she worked beside her husband on his boat culling oysters and also rode with him on long trips in his tractor trailer but for majority of her life she was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for sixty plus years, a member of AARP, Ruth Circle, Linkwood Homemakers and the Salvation Army Home League.

Mary is survived by her four sons Byron Cameron and wife Helen of Vienna, Donald Cameron, Jr. and wife Mary Lynn of Secretary, Phillip Cameron of West Virginia and Lyle Cameron of Cambridge, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, one sister DeRue Hoffman of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents she is preceded in death by a grandson Byron Cameron III, a brother Kehoe Lewis and two sisters Louise Adkins and Anna Lowe.

Pallbearers will be Scott Cameron, Sr., Lyle Cameron, Jr., Jeff Linthicum, Greg Dukes, Howard Hoffman and Michael Lewis.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Christina Blake officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. and again from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Grace United Methodist Church.
