David M. Meyer, age 68, of 1604 South 24th Street, Manitowoc, died on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. David was born on June 29, 1947 in Manitowoc, son of Marion (Alfredson) Heath and the late Mark Meyer. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. On September 2, 1967 he married the former Susan Koch in Manitowoc. David was the owner of the Clark Gas Station in Manitowoc. He then was employed with Manitowoc Ice for 27 years as well as owning Meyer's Market for 40 plus years. He retired in July of 2015. David was a former member and past president of the Manitowoc Jaycees. Survivors include his wife: Susan Meyer; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Paul and Mary Ann Meyer, Derek Meyer; two daughters and sons-in-law: Heidi and Craig Schmidlkofer, Stephani and Michael Lasco, all of Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: Mariah, Mackenzie, Dawn, Andrew, Nathan, Quinn, Halle, Heather, Deysal and Anthony; one great granddaughter: Mariah; his mother: Marion Heath, Manitowoc; one brother: Robert Meyer, New Mexico; two sisters-in-law: Cindy Filliez, Manitowoc, and Lisa (Robert) Staral, Appleton. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one grandson: Jonathan Brurky; his mother-in-law: Virginia Winkler; one sister-in-law: Kim Hynek; and two special friends: Bill Hack and Jim Moldenhauer. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
