George N. Adams died at Humana Hospital Lake Cumberland after a short illness. He was 76 years old.

He was a retired coal miner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy - World War II. He was a past member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church and was currently attending Sinking Valley Baptist Church.

He was survived by his wife, Stella (Baker) Adams (married October 21, 1979 in Pulaski County, Kentucky); his stepsons, Willard Burdine of Indianapolis, Indiana and Edgar Burdine of Indianapolis, Indiana; his stepdaughters, Willena McWhirter of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mary Lou McWhirter of Indianapolis, Indiana, Doris Sears of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Rosalea Bullock of Somerset, Kentucky; 18 step-grandchildren; and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Greene Adams and Effie Jane (Whitaker) Adams; his brothers, Gene Adams, Bill, Adams, and Herman Adams; and his sisters, Ola Arthur, Bertha Whitaker, and Lena Hibbard.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 23, 1987 at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Bullock and Reverend Ronnie Meece officiating.
