Stanley Ivan Vontz, 88, of Beatrice, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Society. He was born March 9, 1927 in Beatrice, the son of John and Irene (Cain) Vontz.
Stanley married Alvina (Schneider) Larimore on June 19, 1948 in Beatrice. He served in the Navy during WWII. Stan worked for many years for NPPD.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bitting-Norman American Legion Post 27, Beatrice Eagles Club, Beatrice Boat Club where he was the president for 6 years; and the Geddes-Thober V.F.W. Post 1077.
Stan enjoyed camping, Husker football, singing, especially sentimental was the Blue Hawaii Wedding Song that he sang at his daughters' wedding, and being with family and friends.
Survivors include: his children, Dennis Larimore and wife Mary, Yvonne Shaw, Sherry Fletcher, Randy Vontz and partner Jesus Ramirez, Ricky Vontz and Marcia Vontz; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Sherill McKinney and husband Don; brother, Kale "Bud" Vontz and wife Marge; sister-in-law, Lillie Schneider; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Alvina; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Vontz and Elsie Vontz; sister, Roberta Justa.
