Albert was born July 24, 1935, near Fulbright in Red River County, Texas, to Floyd Barto Blalock and Nola Mae Jewett Blalock.
His family moved from East Texas to the Panhandle of Texas in 1949. He graduated from the Adrian High School in 1955 and West Texas State University in 1963. He was an industrial arts teacher in Dimmitt, Texas; Goodwell, Oklahoma; and Sharon, Kansas. He also owned and operated Flexo Labels for a while and then became active in owning and managing real estate until Parkinson's disease forced him to retire.
He married Vidala Lois Garcia of Clayton, New Mexico in 1956 and they made their home in many places before making Amarillo their permanent home in 1973. They had been married for 59 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Barto Blalock in 1976; and his mother Nola Mae Blalock Hail in 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Vidala Blalock, two sons, Cris Leon Blalock and Craig Austin Blalock and wife, Dawn, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Etta Ray and husband, Dan Case; Beverly and husband, Malcom Taylor, both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; six grandchildren, Erik and wife Amy, Carlie, Jacquelyn, Graycee and husband Joseph Melius, Mikayla and Zachary; two great grandchildren, Angel and Katelynn; two sister-in-Laws, DeLena Crisman of Truth of Consequences, New Mexico, and Peggy Crawford of Amarillo, Texas; one brother-in-law, Larry and wife, Gloria Garcia of Alamogordo, New Mexico; many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorials be made to the Amarillo Area Parkinson's Disease Association, P. O.
