Mr. C.E. Abbott

The death occurred on Saturday last at two-thirty a.m. of Mr. C.E. Abbott, 62, much respected townsman, who had been in ill health for a number of years.

Deceased was born at Lucan, Ontario. He came to Edmonton in 1903 and was in the real estate business. He came to Camrose in 1919. Mr. Abbott had been a grain buyer for nearly 30 years and was agent for the Alta. Pacific Grain Co. during the greater part of his residence in Camrose. For the past six years he had been in failing health.

Mr. Abbott was a life-long support of Conservative politics and in sports was active in baseball and curling. He took a great interest in gardening and was very proud of his fine flowers and vegetables.

He leaves his wife, the former Mae Smith of London, Ontario, and two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. M.F. Johnson of Alix) and Joyce (Mrs. D. Wilson of Camrose) and one son, Gordon of Natal, B.C. There are five grand-children.

Present for his funeral was his son, Gordon, and two brothers, Percy Abbott and Edgar Abbott, and a sister, Mrs. MacDonald, Edmonton. A brother, Leon, in Ontario, and a sister, Mrs. Cliff Down, of Edmonton, (who is ill in hospital) were unable to be present.
