Portsmouth - Corin Edward Canady, 81, passed away May 11, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth C. and Luke D. Canady, Sr.; sister, Marie Williams; and brothers, John "Buddy" Stoklasa, Raymond "Pet" Stoklasa, Luke Canady Jr., Howard Canady and James Canady. Corin retired from Big Star Foods and Flowers Baking Co., and ended his career at Kelloggs Co. He was a member of Portsmouth Masonic Lodge #100 and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Canady; children, Carolyn McNamara (Carl), Corin E. "Buddy" Canady, Jr., Peyton Ellenor (Jack) and Benjamin Clayton; grandchildren, Kelly McNamara, Jackson Ellenor, Garrett Ellenor and Wyatt Ellenor; sister, Elizabeth Williams; and brothers, Eugene Canady and William Canady.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 14, at 1 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Tom Potter. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Monday from 6-7:30 PM and following the service at his daughter's home, 1501 Wild Duck Crossing, Chesapeake. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
