Faye was born July 18, 1931, the daughter of the late Sam and Vera Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edwin Tynes, her son, David Tynes, sisters, Geraldine Adams, Ludelia Knight, and Lorraine Wallace, and one brother, Sam Adams.
Two years after her graduation as salutatorian at Enon High School, she married Edwin, and moved to France. They returned to the U.S. with a daughter and were living in New Orleans two years later, when their son was born. After returning to Bogalusa in 1965, Faye was the business manager of her husband’s fence and construction business until his death in 1997. Never idle, she launched a new career as house director of Delta Zeta Sorority at LSU. A Christian and lifelong Southern Baptist, she was a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church in Bogalusa.
Remembered for her generosity toward others, excellent cooking and floral design skills, and as the best travel companion for European vacations, her life will be celebrated on Monday, February 8, at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana, with a funeral service conducted by her friend of more than 50 years, The Reverend Larry Mizell. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and continue until the service at 2:00 P.M. Following this she will be buried beside her husband at Hillview Memorial Gardens, beneath a monument with the inscription she chose for him, “What the heart once felt, it shall not lose. Love is for an eternity.”
