Lubbert Lubbertse Van Westervelt (1620-1686). He married Geesje Roelof Van Houten in 1643 in Meppel, Drenthe, Netherlands. Lubbert Lubbertse Van Westervelt and his brother Willem, along with their wives and children, came to New Amsterdam (America) on May 24, 1662 aboard the Ship Hoop. They were the only two passengers on the Ship who paid for their families passage. They settled in Long Island (Flatbush), Kings, New York. The Van Westervelt family, upon arriving to America in 1662, quickly shortened their last name to Westervelt. In 1676, the Westervelt family members had migrated from New York to the Hackensack Valley in Bergen County, New Jersey. They settled in Hackensack first and later expanded out to Schraalenburgh. Lubbert Lubbertse Van Westervelt died in Hackensack, Bergen, New Jersey on October 2, 1686. His final resting place remains unknown and was never recorded.

Father: Hendrik Wilheim Van Westervelt (b. 1595 in Westerveld Manor, Zwollerker, Overyssel, Netherlands; d. 1651 in Netherlands (Holland). He married Rollofse Van Housen about 1615 in the Netherlands.

Mother: Rollofse Van Housen (b. 1598 in Netherlands; d. Netherlands).

Wife: Geesje Roelof Van Houten (1625-1696).
