Born in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Frances was the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Laura V. Wolfes Kemp. The family relocated to Hagerstown, Maryland when she was a young child, and she lived there for the rest of her life.
Frances was employed with Leiter Brother's Department Store in the cosmetics department for many years, later retiring from Routzahn's Department Store after their purchase of Leiter's. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a long time member of The Meridian Club.
Frances is survived by her brother, Edwin M. Kemp, and his wife, Hazel, and one niece, Bonnie Kemp Bell, and one great nephew, James M. Bell, III. Bonnie and her son, Jimmy, were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her uncle, Robert L. Wolfes, of Martinsburg, WV and cousins Mildred Kemp Momberger, Erma Kemp Frederick and Frank L. Fritts, all of whom live in Baltimore.
Services will be held at 11 am Wedneday at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, with the Rev. Dr. Ronald L. Weagley officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
