Roy Vinson Allen, age 81, of Asheboro died Friday, February 5, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Allen was born August 1, 1934 the son of Dossie and Bertie Allen.

Mr. Allen was a native of Moore County and spent most of his career as a self-employed painter but had also worked at Laughlin Hosiery Mill in Randleman. He attended Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church and Asheboro Church of God of Prophecy. Vinson was a gifted musician and used his talent to minister and spread the gospel; because of his strong love of the Lord, he was always sharing his testimony with all he met. Vinson is preceded in death by his first wife: Mary Martin Allen and siblings: Larry Allen, Faye Williams, Vernon Allen, Mae Allen, and AC Allen.

The family would like to thank everyone who provided care through the Asheboro Senior Adult Center home health, Carter's Pharmacy, Randolph Hospital, the Randolph Hospice House and his dedicated doctors.

He is survived by his wife: Peggy Meacham Allen; one daughter: Janet (Mark) Poole of Asheboro, NC; one son: Michael (Jeanne) Allen of Asheboro, NC; one sister: Twila Upchurch of Robbins, NC; one brother: Fairel (Nell) Allen of Greensboro, NC, 2 grandchildren: Emily Allen and Haley Poole of Asheboro, NC

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 1:30-2:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home Chapel with Brother Burton King and Brother Jack Kivett officiating.
