David Wesley Brown Jr, son of the late David Wesley Brown Sr and Lois Faye (Karmenzind) Brown, was born June 23, 1954, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He passed away on September 13, 2006, at the age of 52. He was united in marriage to Debra Kay (Melton) Brown on September 24, 1977, and to this union two children were born. David graduated from UMR as a Professional Civil Engineer and was employed by the City of Rolla as the City Engineer. David was a US Army Veteran 2d Armored Division and the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was a Registered Land Surveyor. The things he loved most besides his family was trout fishing and hunting.

David is survived by his wife Debra; children; Dana Renee Jenkins and husband Cord of Lexington, Kentucky, and Brandon David Brown of Edgar Springs, Missouri, mother Lois Faye Brown of Edgar Springs, Missouri, three brothers; Roderick Galen Brown and wife Cindy I. Hiatt of Willard, Missouri, Gregory Glen Brown and wife Tara J. Brown of Edgar Springs, Missouri, and Garrett James Brown and wife Autumn McCarty-Brown of Tampa Bay, Florida, many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.


Visitation for David Wesley Brown Jr will be held from 6:30 PM until 8 PM, Friday, September 15, at the James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Funeral service with full military honors will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the James & Gahr Chapel in Rolla, with Bobby Mathis, Ernie Coverdell, and Creed Branson officiating. Pallbearers are John Melton, Daniel Tayloe, Bradley Melton, Josh Brown, Zach Brown and Kent Melton. Honorary Pallbearers are Wesley Brown, Mathias Brown and Uriah Brown. Interment will be at Smith Cemetery in Edgar Springs, Missouri.
