MRS. MATTIE MALONE BANKS, 77, of 1267 Gill Avenue, widow of George W. Banks, died at 4:40 p.m. yesterday at Methodist Hospital. N.J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She leaves five daughters, Mrs. Verner Echols of Chicago, Ms. Willie Jackson and Mrs. Mary Bullard, both of St. Louis, and Mrs. Robbie Lee Cooper and Mrs. Maggie Bankhead, both of Memphis; four sons, Booker Banks and Floyd M. Banks, both of Chicago, and Ernest Howard Banks and Frank James Banks, both of Memphis; eight sisters, Mrs. Viola Toliver and Mrs. Elsie Houston, both of Indianapolis, Mrs. Lois Suggs, Mrs. Emma Massey and Mrs. Millie Manning, all of Hernando, Miss., Mrs. Connie Mae Johnson of Helena, Ark., Mrs. Martha McMahon of Nesbit, Miss., and Mrs. Minor Hollowell of Memphis; and a brother, Walter Malone of Memphis, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
