J. McPHEETERS PASSES AWAY

John Arthur McPheeters, age 69, a lifelong resident of this city, died at 3:30 AM today. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. He had been in ill health for some time and had been under a physician's care for the past week.

John Arthur, as he was known to Bloomington people, was a familiar figure on the downtown streets until his health failed. Having lost his right arm when a small boy, he did not let this handicap him but made his living by selling apples, candy and other commodities on the streets. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was the son of the late Robert C. and Margaret McPheeters. One niece, Mrs. Raymond Trisler, survives.

Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning from the Day Chapel in charge of Elder A. W. Harvey. Interment will be in Rose Hill. Pallbearers will be Len Field, Alex Hirsch, Louis Hughes, Earl Trisler, Harry Grounds and W. M. Brown.
