Mae Congdon, 90, of Van Buren, Ark., formerly of Baxter Springs, Ks., passed away February 9, 2016, in Van Buren.

Mae was born May 16, 1925, in Quapaw, Ok. to Raymond & Elsie (Fry) Taylor, they preceded her in death. She married Marion L. "Spike" Congdon on July 26, 1942, he preceded her in death 1989. Mae is also preceded in death by a twin brother, and one sister, Kathryn Schooley.

Mae was the retired owner/operator of Mae's Beauty Shop in Baxter Springs and she attended Riverton Friends Church in Riverton, Kansas.

Mae is survived one brother, Charles Robert aka Son (Georgia) Taylor of Baxter Springs, Ks. and three children, 2 daughters, Charlene (Larry) Prauser of Joplin, Mo., Vicki (Jon) Adams of Loma Linda, Mo. and one son, Rick Congdon (Kristie) of Ft. Smith, Ar.

Mae was cremated and ashes were buried in Lowell Cemetery.
