Mr. Raymond 'Carroll' Newman, age 72, of 3784 U.S. Highway 78 East, Tallapoosa, GA, passed away August 5, 2012.
Mr. Newman was born in Tallapoosa on July 25, 1940 to the late Oscar Ross Newman and Loucilla Blanks Newman-Williams.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Campbell, and brother, Ivey Newman.
Carroll was a 1959 graduate of West Haralson High School, where he played basketball. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Agan Newman; a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Layton and Rev. Chester Pesnell officiating. Pallbearers serving will be Carroll's nephews.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 between the hours of 4:30 and 8:00 PM.
