Kener (Kay) Ward Egbert 1907 ~ 2004 Kener (Kay) Ward Egbert born September 23, 1907 in Granite, Utah to Emma Kener Egbert Dickson and William Ward Egbert. Kener died peacefully on January 14, 2004 in the loving care of his friends at his home at Legacy House. He served his country in World War II. He worked for Utah Power & Light where he retired. He married Lucile West Murphy on Sept. 13, 1958. He served an LDS mission in Nauvoo, Ill., with his wife and they devoted many years of service as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Temple. Survived by daughter, Shannon Burton; grandchildren, Caroline Hutchings, Allison Green, Brian Burton, six great-grandchildren, and much loved nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by his wife, Lucile, his parents and his brothers and sisters. Kener's charm and sense of humor endeared him to people of all ages. He loved sports, golfing, fishing, gardening and spending time with friends and family. Most of all he loved the Lord. He was loved by everyone he met and he will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Friends and family may call at the mortuary one hour prior to the services.
