Leonard Abner
October 11, 1925 - February 11, 2016 Leonard Abner, 90 of Richmond, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Leonard was born in Jackson County to the late Tib (Samuel) and Lessie (Combs) Abner. He was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, performed Bluegrass Gospel Music through the years, and was a 32 year employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Morgan Abner, four brothers Lloyd Abner, Alvin Abner, Lester Abner and Ellis Abner and two sisters China Barb and Della White.
He is survived by one sister, Bertha (Bob) Combs. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and the loving staff of Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Richmond.
Funeral services will be 1pm Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea with Rev. Roy Jackson and Rev. Chris Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Combs Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Deaton, Scott Davis, James Combs, Jimmy Abner, Anthony Wilcox and Greg Moore.
Lakes Funeral Home in Berea is in charge of arrangements.
