Rickie D. Benson, 68, of New Cumberland passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center, Harrisburg, PA.

She was a retired office administrator for the Office of the Attorney General, Commonwealth of PA.

Rickie was born in Harrisburg to the late Irvin and Mary (Jamison) Benson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and first love, Ronnie Horvath who died at a very young age while serving in the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA, a brother Jackie Benson and a son in law Mark A. Pluchinsky.

She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother and her family meant everything to her. Before her death, Rickie expressed that she wanted her family to know how grateful she was for them being there when she needed them most. She admitted to making mistakes during her life, and given a second chance, would undue many of them, though at those times, she did the best she could.

Rickie is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Ann Pluchinsky of Pittsburgh and Michelle Marie Houston and husband Ryan of Cannonsburg; four brothers, Richard D. Benson and wife Cathryn of St. Petersburg, FL, William E. Benson of DE, James I. Benson and wife Linda of New Cumberland and Donald A. Benson and wife Connie of Mannheim, Germany; a sister Jane E. Gehers and husband Terry of Northumberland, PA; three grandchildren, Ariana, Jakob and Logan; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
