Army Sgt. Foshee was assigned to E Co, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Foshee was killed in an MH-47E Chinook helicopter crash during a training exercise off of the Philippine Islands. Jeremy graduated from Pisgah High School in 1995 where he was a good student and played football for the Pisgah Eagles. He was competitive and played hard in whatever sport he was playing – he hated to lose at anything. That competitiveness was what made him a good soldier. He joined the National Guard after graduation and about a year later, he went into the Army. Jeremy had always wanted to be in the military and knew the Army was for him. Friends remember him as a role model, respected by others, always smiling and patriotic to the point that he was willing to give up his life – American to the bone. He was athletic and liked sports, football, hunting, fishing and repelling. The loss of Jeremy was especially hard on his family because they found everyone on the helicopter but him. He was in the middle of the aircraft using the radio in the maneuver they were doing when it broke apart and exploded. They had hope for a long time he would be found but they found nothing. A memorial was held for Jeremy at New Home Baptist Church, Pisgah, Alabama. He died for a cause he believed in, the defense of the United States of America.
