Patricia Elaine Jones, 61, of Gardendale, Texas, was born on July 27, 1954 in Odessa, Texas, and passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in Midland, Texas. She was a strong woman, hardworking, and a leader for others to follow, straightforward and honest. When on the job, she was all about the business, but her family knew a different side to her. Patricia had a great, goofy sense of humor and her family loved to be with her as she did with them. Her nickname from her husband was "RNT" or "Right Now Trish" as she expected things to be done right away, without delay. She and her family participated in Tae Kwon Do and she became a first degree black belt, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Patricia loved the outdoors, butterflies and birds, and she was a staunch defender of the weak. She was also very patriotic, an avid supporter of the troops fighting for our beloved country. In summary, Patricia was all about God, Family, and Country. Her presence will be sorely missed by her family, but her legacy of strength, humor, and love will live on in those who love her. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Dalton Jones of Gardendale, Texas; mom, Jackie Smotherman of Odessa, Texas; son, Matthew Jones of Gardendale, Texas; and by three sisters, Regina Bradford of Capitan, New Mexico, Debbie Williams of Capitan, New Mexico, and Vanessa Garner of Gardendale, Texas. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Chapel. A funeral service, officiated by David Newton, will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Church followed immediately by a burial at American Heritage Cemetery & Funeral Home, 4100 N. FM-1788, Midland, Texas, 79707. Online condolences may be posted at www.thehealingstartshere. com.
