Dorothy was born in Callis, TX. Dorothy graduated from Blue Ridge High School and later attended Arlington State College. A large part of her life was dedicated to raising three sons and serving the Methodist Church in many capacities, most important of which as the wife of a Methodist minister in the Dallas conference. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Ruby Broyles, sisters Doris Black and Dahlia Broyles, brothers Dale and Jim Broyles. Survivors include her husband of 64 years Henry Harold Lawson; her children Preston Lawson and wife Sheila, Larry Lawson, and Jerry Lawson and wife Betty; brother Darrell Broyles; grandchildren Rene Lawson, Lynna Fedric, Lisa Lawson, Jerry Lawson Jr., Robbyn Seckel, Raven Pritchett, Sarah Lawson, Jack Lawson and Laura Lawson; great-grandchildren Tony Viator, Cara Peterson, Susan and Jared Lawson, Elizabeth Coy, Justin and Cody Lawson; great-great-grandchildren Connor Peterson, Anthony and Weston Viator. Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM Tuesday evening, September 19,2006 at Porter Funeral Home on Canton St. in Mexia. A funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 1:00PM with interment following at the cemetery in Altoga, Texas.
