Mrs. Minerva Matilda Bigler, 89, native of Cumberland county and widow of David Bigler, died at the home of her son Howard, Lees Cross Roads.

Mrs. Bigler, was born on May 4, 1856, and is survived by one son, Howard Allen, Lees Cross Roads, 11 grand children and eight great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Suders, Shippensburg.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Van Scyoc funeral home. The Rev. William C. Whitmer will conduct the funeral services. Burial will be made in the Spring Hill cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening after 7 o'clock.

When Minerva married David Bigler in 1899 she already had children with the last name of Allen. Unclear who was the father to her children but she must have had them out of wedlock since on the marriage application she did not list any previous marriages.

In the 1910 census it shows Minerva with her husband and children:

Minerva M Bigler Wife F 53 Pennsylvania
Howard Allen Stepson M 24 Pennsylvania
Henry F Allen Stepson M 19 Pennsylvania
