A native of West Springs, he was a son of the late Robert Cleveland and Daisy Groce Stevens.
He was a member of Holland Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Buffalo American Legion Post No. 87. He was also a veteran of the Army, having served during World War II, and was retired from Guards Man Chemical Company in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Cleveland of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Autince West of Union; a brother, Leonard Stevens of Columbia; and two granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Ken Langsdors. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family is at the home of a sister, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. West, 119 Hillcrest Drive, Union.
