Gertrude Ward Campbell, age 94, Bower Rd., Winter Park died Wednesday, July 3, 2001. Gertrude was born in Winter Park, the second of 8 children and lived her entire life here. She was also a life long member of First Congregational Church. Upon graduation from Rollins College, she worked at the Winter Park Land Company as a secretary and manager of the Winter Park Insurance Agency in that office for 8 years. In 1936, she married Herbert W. Barnum and lived in Virginia Heights until 1947 when they built a home on Genius Drive. She was active in her church, a member of the Orchestra in Winter Park, the Red Cross, Women's Club, Garden Club, Librarian, Girl Scouts and Winter Park Historical Association. Mr. Barnum died in 1957 and 5 years later she married Harry Campbell who died In 1990. Survivors are her daughter; Shirley Warren, Winter Park, sister; Florence Johnson of San Antonio, TX, brothers; Earl Ward of Tallalassee and Walter Ward of Winter Park, 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Notice of a Memorial Service will follow.
