Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. John Black, age 85 of Purvis School House Road Stapleton, Georgia, who died Monday in the Gibson Heal & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. David Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church in Mitchell. Nephews will survive as Pallbearers.

A native of Glascock County, Mr. Black was a son of the late George & Mary Lou Dixon Black. John retired from Jebco Steel in Warrenton after many years of service and faithfully attended Mt. Nebo Primitive Baptist Church in Mitchell.

John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Nell Kitchens Black, brothers, Ray Pool & Banburen Samans and is survived by his step-children, Sara Wood of Gibson, Katherine Williams of Gibson, Judy Lamp of Gibson, Mildred McDonald of Augusta, Linda Hulme of Hephzibah, Frankie Black of Stapelton, Janel Higdon, of Comer, Chester Kitchens, of Gibson, Ralph Kitchens, of Gibson, James Kitchens, of Gibson, Wendell Kitchens, of Gibson, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

The black family will receive friends Wednesday Morning from 10:00 AM till service time at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Gibson, is in charge of arrangements.
