Alfred Collins Dies at 85
Alfred M. Collins, 85, native of Shelby County and retired woodworker, died at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis at 3:00 a.m. today after a three week illness.
Mr. Collins left this community 27 years ago and resided in Huntington before moving to Pierceton two years ago.
He was born April 12, 1873, and in 1894 was married to Clara Underwood who preceded in death in 1908.
He is survived by one son, Floyd Collins of Pierceton; one sister and one brother, Mrs. Jane Ross of Tipton and William Collins of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) at the Breeding Funeral Home in Pierceton.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery at approximately 2:15 p.m. Shelbyville time.
Local arrangements are in charge of the Sleeth Funeral Home.
