Funeral services for James Thomas "J.T." Cribbs, 64, of Longview, will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2006, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Michael C. Macey and the Rev. Carol Petty officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cribbs passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. J.T. was born February 2, 1942, in Henderson, Texas, to C.O. and Ruby Cribbs. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a senior marketing representative for Centerpoint Energy. Active in the community, he was on the board of directors for the East Texas Builders Association, the Association Council, and the Rural Renting Housing Association of Texas, where he received the President's Award, and he held memberships in many area Chambers of Commerce. J.T. was a great friend and colleague and will be missed by all. J.T. was a loving husband and father to his wife, Nikki, and daughter, Nicole. Also surviving him is his father-in-law, Manuel Smart.
