Roger L. Rothmund, age 72 of Manitowoc, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, surrounded by his loving family.

Roger was born on May 11, 1943 in Manitowoc, son of Lester and Clara (Funk) Rothmund. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1961 from Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On August 24, 1963 Roger married the former Kathleen Zeddies at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He was employed at Imperial Eastman for 38 years until his retirement in 1999. During his retirement, Roger enjoyed working with his two sons at TA Motorsports, Francis Creek. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc Yacht Club and founding member of the Shoto River Riders Snowmobile Club. Roger was a volunteer firefighter for the Rockwood Volunteer Fire Department almost 40 years retiring as Assistant Fire Chief. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, card clubs, working on antique tractors, watching the Green Bay Packers and having a whiskey Old Fashioned.

Survivors include his wife: Kathleen Rothmund, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard (Jean) Rothmund, Two Rivers; Jeffrey (Pam) Rothmund, Manitowoc: four grandchildren: Taylor (Logan) Rhode, Kellnersville; Ashley Rothmund, Two Rivers; Kayleen Rothmund and her special friend: Justin Schaus, Manitowoc; Jonathan Rothmund, Manitowoc; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Lois Elliot, Manitowoc; Joan (Larry) Keehan, Manitowoc; Lila (Elmer) Free, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law: Donald (Jean) Zeddies, Manitowoc; Patricia Braun, San Diego, CA; Sharon (Glen) Backhaus, Valders; Lee (Connie) Zeddies, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alfred (Kathryn) Zeddies; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Bob Elliot; George Braun; Richard Zeddies; Maureen Zeddies.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Michael Warden will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. The Jens Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
