A. D. Cozad, gardener and antiques dealer, of East Market Street, Mercer, died last evening, Feb 4, 1942, after an illness of six weeks in the Mercer County hospital. He was 96 years of age.

Mr. Cozad was a son of Henry A. and Rebecca Reagle Cozad, and was born at Sandy Lake, Feb. 9, 1846. He was a life-long resident of Mercer County. He moved to Mercer from Sandy Lake in 1923, where he engaged in gardening and for the past few years conducted a business in antiques at his residence.

He was a member of the First Methodist Church and, when his health permitted, was active in church work. He was a member of the Randolph Bible class.

Mr. Cozad has but one survivor, a half-brother, E. J. DeLong of Franklin.

Funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Miller funeral home, Mercer, conducted by Rev. John L. Buck. Interment will be made in Sandy Lake cemetery.
