born and raised in Galesburg, Illinois. her family owned the Lescher Drug Company in downtown Galesburg. she first designed cars in california. she married the composer and silent film star Harry Archer. they moved to New York and she became the famous columnist, as well as owned a charm school and wrote books about it. she had also married Thomas Fox
