Orvilla Rose "Rosie" Steineke, 68, of Brookings, Oregon died Sept. 1, 2006, at her home of small cell lung cancer.

She was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Lakeview, Oregon to Frank Curtis "Bob" and Eva Helen Buck Wilson.

At a young age she moved with her family to Grants Pass, Oregon where she was raised and educated.

She was a lifetime Oregonian and a resident of Brookings for more than 30 years.

She enjoyed her family and friends, as well as refurbishing furniture, landscape painting, music, her yard, garden and many other activities.

The last year of her life she was cared for by her loving son Tim Munyon.

Mrs. Steineke was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

Survivors include her mother, Helen Wilson of Brookings, Oregon; daughters Helen Gardner and husband Fletcher of Harbor, Oregon and Angela Gardner of Brookings, Oregon; sons Tom Munyon and wife Vicki of Brookings, Oregon, Jim Munyon and wife Susan of Prairie City, Oregon, Kyle Steineke and wife Sandy of Rogue River, Oregon, Tim Munyon of Brookings, Oregon and Ed Trivett and wife Heidi of Eugene, Oregon; brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby and Elsie Wilson and Fred and Corkie Wilson all of Grants Pass, Oregon ; sisters Joan Gregg of Brookings, Oregon and Christine Johnson of Harbor, Oregon; 17 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Curtis "Bob" Wilson, mother-in-law Frankie Steineke, her beloved husband "Stub" Steineke, and baby twin daughters Mary and Ann Munyon.
