Ken served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a long-time member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church, was a loving Christian husband, father and family man. He retired from Pneumafil after 33 years of service, enjoyed fishing, playing golf and bowling.
He is survived by his children, Karen Reynolds and husband Joe of Gastonia, Rev. Keith Whitener and wife, Debbi of Matthews, Darrin Whitener and wife, Donna of Statesville; sister, Nellie McGinnis; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 pm this evening at McLean Funeral Directors, Belmont. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 21 at Catawba Heights Baptist Church. Burial with Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
