She married on December 6, 1916 in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri to John Lafever (1889–1944), the son of John Lafever (1835–1907) and Susan (Canaday) Lafever (1844–1023).
Barbara was living in Kansas City, Kansas during the 1930 and 1940 censuses, and by the mid-1950s she was in Los Angeles, California.
