Martha F. "Jane" Glaister Metzger, 82, of Buffalo Township, died Monday, March 13, 2006, in the emergency room at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison. Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Brackenridge, to the late James A. and Mary A. (McMillen) Farrell, she lived in Buffalo Township the past 55 years, and prior to that in Brackenridge.

She was a graduate of Har Brack High School and Robert Morris Business School. A homemaker, she worked for the former G.C. Murphy, Tarentum, was head housekeeper at the Holiday Inn, RIDC, O'Hara, Jean's Hallmark, Natrona Heights, Metzger's Hallmark 4 Seasons, Shreveport, La.

She was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Fawn, Eastern Star, where she was a past worthy matron; Buffalo Township Seniors; and a former Girl Scout leader.

She enjoyed crocheting lap robes for Health South and reading. Mrs. Metzger was a woman of faith and had a wonderful relationship with Jesus. She was a faithful wife, mother and servant of God.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, James G. Metzger; daughters, Cheryl A. (Ronald) Kestner of Allegheny Township, Cynthia L. (James) Pander of Erie, and Carol L. (Barry) Burton of Kittanning; grandchildren, Ronald R. and Tiffany Kestner, James and Kaitlin Pander, and Dalton and Matthew A. Burton; a brother, James Farrell of Brackenridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank J. Glaister, in 1978. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Her pastor, the Rev. James E. Gascoine, will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
