Services for ROBERT E. CLARK, Jr., 66, oldest son of the late famed U. S. Marshal and Ventura County Sheriff Robert E. Clark, will be conducted in Duncan, Okla. Mr. Clark died Thursday of a heart attack, suffered while driving between Duncan and Midland, Texas.
He owned an oilwell machine business in Duncan, where he and his family lived.
He was born March 2, 1905, in San Fernando, Calif., and came with his parents to Ventura at an early age. He attended Ventura High School and the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. Mr. Clark was a Marine Lieutenant Colonel in World War II, serving in Pacific battles. He served for a time as a deputy sheriff under his father.
He is survived by his wife, Mary F.; sons, Robert E. III, Michael, Thomas, Owen and Kevin, all of Duncan, Okla.; daughters, Miss Gail of Berkeley, Mrs. Katherine Clark Johnson of Altadena, Miss Colleen Clark of Midland, Texas, and Miss Mary Ellen of Duncan; brothers, William P. of Camarillo, and Chester B. of Lakeview, Ore.; sisters, Mrs. Mary Rose of Ventura, Mrs. Elizabeth Brand of South Lake Tahoe, and Mrs. Clare Whitley of Pasadena.
Another brother, Ned Clark, died in Ventura in 1970.
