Mary E. Mahle, 79, of Mount Perry, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born on June 7, 1936 in Harriettsville, Ohio (Noble County), a daughter of the late Floyd and Alice Baker. She was a 1954 graduate of Roseville High School. Mary married Raymond E. Mahle on February 22, 1958. Mary worked at the Standard Oil Company, Bulk Plant on Coopermill Road for several years. In February of 1977 Mary and her husband Ray opened the first Brighton Old Fashioned Ice Cream at the corner of Brighton Blvd. and Dryden Rd. Over the following years, Mary and Ray opened up more Brighton's where she met hundreds of wonderful employees. From 1991 through 2014 Mary operated the concession stand at Lake Isabella where she served countless families. From an early age Mary attended and was very active with the Fultonham United Methodist Church until her health began to fail.

Mary is survived by four children: daughter Dr. Cathy Mahle (Dr. Harvey Wiener) of Southbury, CT, three sons Gregory (Adella) Mahle of Zanesville, Todd (Pam) Mahle, and Scott (Debbie) Mahle both of Mount Perry. Two grandchildren Christian and Aaron Mahle, whom she loved to cook for. A very special niece Kimberly Smith. Several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Mahle, who died November 13, 1989. Two sisters Evelyn Chobin and Ruby Reed. One brother Robert Baker.
