Mrs. William H. Barnes
The death of Mrs. William Henry Barnes of Cooperstown RD 3 occurred Monday at her home following a long illness. She was 77 years old.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Milford on August 13, 1883, a daughte rof Emmet and Martha (Davy) VanDeBoe. She was married to Charles G. Darling on June 10, 1903. His death occured October 28, 1946. She married Mr. Barnes on August 25, 1952.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Elmer Darling of Council Bluffs, IA.; Henry Darling of Central Bridge, and Clayton Darling of middlefield; four duaghters, Mrs. Anna Brezee and Miss Ella mae Darling, both of Oneonta; Mrs. Pauline Carpenter of Albany, and mrs. Norine Leonard of Howe's Cave; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-granchildren; three brothers, Lynn, Roland and Ashley VanDeBoe, allof Oneonta; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Mumford of Cooperstoan and Mrs. Winifred Weighman of Binghamton.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Ottman Funeral Home in Cherry Valley with the Rev. James W. Kemmerer, pastor of the Cherry Valley methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Middlefield Cemetery.
