While attending Skyline High School he earned his Eagle Scout Award and learned to play the snare drums. He loved to snow ski, water ski, golf, and play in the ocean, especially Hawaii. It was there in the Hawaiian Islands that he fell in love with his "Little Suzie Q". They were sweethearts for 48 years. He was a huge fan of the Beach Boys and The Doors. He continued his education at Dixie State University followed by attendance at the University of Utah.
He began his career as a builder in the 1970's and went on to be a General Contractor, building many beautiful homes in the Salt Lake area. He was the owner and sole proprietor of R.B. Homes and B.B.B. Construction. He opened a video shop on Highland Drive called "The Cinema Shop" which he and his wife ran for many years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping family and others, and he never met anyone he didn't like. More than anything he loved spending time with his family and enjoying vacations together. He was very active in the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings.
Bob was known as the Uncle who was rambunctious, fun loving, and the life of the party. He was always teasing, joking, and tickling the kids until they cried, but they would line up again for their turn to be tickled and tossed into the air. He was also known for his big bear-hugs and loved being with family at holiday and family gatherings. He was optimistic and happy and saw the silver lining in his trials.
