DAVIDSON, Merlin DeWayne (Dave) Merlin DeWayne (Dave) Davidson was born in 1935 to Andy and Bonnie Davidson in Dallas, Texas. He spent his childhood with his brother Phillip (Larry) Davidson and his late sister Martha Davidson Davis. Dave joined the U.S. Navy in 1952, where he acquired a deep admiration and appreciation of aircraft and jet engines. This led to a twenty-five year career with Braniff Airways. After Braniff he worked for Dalfort aviation and Jet East Inc. along with a short stint with the Confederate Air Force working on vintage aircraft. He married Mildred (Micki) Deathridge in 1958, and became the father of three sons, William Byram III, the late Chuck Davidson, and Troy Davidson, and two daughters, Sharon Byram Reynolds and Wendi Davidson. The Davidsons were members of the Walnut Hill Church of Christ for many years. Affectionately known as "Ol' Tons Of Fun", Dave was an avid stamp collector, and a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife Micki of 57 years, four children, his brother, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the spouses of his survivors.
