Annie Virginia Mahoney Williams Walters, 84, of Browntown, Virginia, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Lynn Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Normoyle. Interment will follow in the Panorama Memorial Gardens at Waterlick.

Mrs. Walters was born on June 21, 1931 in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Noah Harrison Mahoney and Florence Virginia Johnson Mahoney.

She retired after many years from Old Virginia Packing.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her first husband, Noah Samuel Williams; her second husband, Lonzy Lee Walters; two children, John Lee Walters Sr. and Mary Helen Williams; two grandchildren, Christopher Walters and Tabitha Mahoney; seven brothers, George, Edward, John, Marshall, Charles, Walter, and Noah Mahoney; and one sister, Mary Anna North.

Surviving are a son, Arnold D. Williams and wife Deloris of Bentonville; one daughter, Brucie "Peanut" Jenkins and husband Bobby of Browntown; one brother, James R. Mahoney of Chester Gap; one sister, Elizabeth Riley of Strasburg; two sisters-in-law, Helen Foster of Chester Gap and Geraldine Mahoney of Bentonville; eight grandchildren Vicky, Missy, Tanya, Randy, Shelly, Stephanie, Amanda, and John Jr.; 17 great grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey, Justin, Zachary, Jeremy, Robin, Toby, Gillian, Caleb, Haley, Angel, Trent, Caleb, Landen, Chris, Grace, and Graycie; one great great granddaughter, Madilyn Rose; Junior Foster of Harrisonburg, whom he thought of as a second mother; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randy Walters, Glenn Mahoney, Rob Dowler, Jesse Harmon, Walter Mahoney Jr., and Richie Mahoney.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family invites all to the Chester Gap Fire Hall for a time of food and fellowship following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.

Arrangements are being handled by Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street Front Royal, VA 22630.
